Alex Felland, Operations Manager / General Manager · Fresco, Food Fight
Born and raised in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Alex Felland realization of his life's calling is quintessential Americana: "My passion for food came from my grandma who taught me how to cook growing up. I still have her apple pie recipe memorized." At eighteen, he moved to Madison to attend the University of Wisconsin, working as a bouncer at the definitive game-day destination: State Street Brats. He would spend time as a server, cook and bartender before being offered the position manager. After attending the UW, he stayed on at Stat Street Brats, enjoying the challenge of running one the busiest haunts on campus as well as the individuals he worked with on a daily basis: "Restaurant people are really down to earth, friendly and caring-in and outside of work." Alex joined Food Fight in August of 2012 as the Assistant General Manager at the newly opened upscale burger joint, DLUX. Little over a year later, he was tapped to launch yet another Food Fight concept: Bassett Street Brunch Club, this time as General Manager. Creating a "fun atmosphere where people come to enjoy themselves" is central to Alexï¿½s love of restaurants, and both properties put a premium on variety and entertainment value. Opening two new restaurants in thirteen months as a new member of the leadership team was no small feat, and Alex appreciates the support Food Fight provided in those ventures as well as the possibilities for future. "Food Fight is like a second family to me, one that keeps growing."
