Amanda Jabs, Controller · Food Fight
Amanda started working at Food Fight Restaurant Group as the Senior Accountant in July 2014, the same week that Cento opened its doors. Since then, she has been part of the opening of Tavernakaya and the Avenue Club. She's proud to watch and play a part in the opening and ongoing efforts of these restaurants as they become a successful and integral part of the Food Fight Restaurant Group. She also values the leadership she receives at Food Fight. "I love that there is always someone I can go to for support and guidance in efforts to better my career. There are many different types of leaders here and they're all willing to share their experience and knowledge with those who have the desire to learn." Prior to Food Fight, Amanda began her work in the restaurant world as a bartender and server at Uno's Chicago Grill on Madison's east side. While there, an opportunity arose for her to fill in for the then Accounting Assistant who was to go on maternity leave. She later took an accounting job with AJ Restaurant Accounting when her temp assignment at Uno's ended. She worked there for two years in Accounts Payable, Payroll and Financial Accounting. In 2012, Amanda took a Staff Accountant position with DelaGet, a company that specializes in Restaurant Reporting, Loss Prevention and Accounting primarily for franchise restaurants. Although accounting is the path that Amanda has pursued, she enjoys working with restaurants because there is also a social side to her work. "When you are in the hospitality industry," Amanda says, "socializing and being personable are a necessity. I'm an outgoing person and I love to work with others who are engaging and easy to talk and laugh with. We all care about each other and our customers. I love that we have that in common at every level of our company."
