With nearly 40 years in the restaurant business, Michael Stapleton has seen it all. Born and raised in Ohio, Michael started as a busboy at the age of 14. He "started off in freestanding restaurants and then moved into hotels (and) catering for the last two decades," says Michael. "There is never a typical day," Michael says of the restaurant industry. And what about the people? "We certainly are a different breed, Michael adds. "Common sense rules in the business." When taking a break from restaurant life, Michael can be found gardening with his husband Cliff, and spending time with his three dogs and a cat.
