Heather Hammond, Assistant General Manager · Tex Tubb's Taco Palace
Heather Hammond is from Kalamazoo, Michigan and started her career in the food service industry at a local ice cream shop scooping ice cream and making milkshakes when she was 15 years old. "My mom wanted me to learn the responsibility of having a job. After the ice cream shop, I just never left the food service industry. I dabbled in jobs in other industries, but I always found myself enjoying the fast pace and family feeling of food service." Heather's favorite part of the service industry is the diverse and interesting people she gets to serve on a daily basis. "I like getting the chance to meet new people. Whether its someone who stops in regularly or someone who's just visiting the area. I've learned so much from all the different people I've been able to chat with while working in the restaurant industry. I also love food, so why not work with something I love?" Heather has worked in many restaurants over the years, but she is particularly excited to be working for Food Fight. "The best part of working for Food Fight is the feeling of having one giant extended family. The other great thing about working for Food Fight getting a discount at all of the Food Fight restaurants. I really like that each restaurant has a different style depending on what I'm in the mood for that day. There are so many great restaurants to choose from, and they are all right here in the Madison area." When Heather isn't busy working in the restaurant, she likes to enjoy the company of her dog Payson who is named for Payson, Arizona where she comes from. She also likes to peruse pinterest for new arts and crafts projects. When it comes time to unwind at the end of the day Heather can be found curled up on the couch with Payson watching Netflix and Hulu and drinking delicious Michigan beers that remind her of home.
